Tensions in the Middle East escalated further as Hezbollah issued a warning of a potential “existential battle” with Israel, following a new series of rocket attacks targeting northern Israel.
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem stated that the group is prepared for a long confrontation with Israel, underscoring the ongoing volatility along the Israel–Lebanon border. The rocket barrages, which were described as dozens of projectiles, highlight that despite previous military operations, Hezbollah retains the capability to strike Israeli territory.
Israeli officials confirmed multiple rocket interceptions by their defense systems, while investigations continue into the full impact of the attacks. The exchanges come amid heightened regional tensions, with fears that any escalation could draw in neighboring countries or affect international stakeholders.
Analysts note that Hezbollah’s rhetoric and military actions are likely intended to demonstrate strength, deter further Israeli operations in Lebanon, and solidify internal support within Lebanon and among its allies.
The international community has called for restraint, urging both sides to avoid escalation and return to diplomatic dialogue. Meanwhile, security forces on both sides remain on high alert as the situation continues to unfold.
