NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in the final stages of concluding the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2. As of today, April 5, the second shift of the B.Tech/B.E. exams is currently underway, with the entire session scheduled to wrap up by April 8. Following the completion of these tests, the agency is set to declare the Final Results and All India Ranks (AIR) by April 20, 2026.
The Path to the Final Rank
This result is perhaps the most anticipated in the engineering entrance calendar. Unlike the Session 1 results released in February, which only provided NTA scores (percentiles), the April announcement will include the definitive All India Ranks. Since NTA follows a “best of two” policy, the higher score between the January and April sessions will be used to determine a candidate’s position in the national merit list.
The results will also confirm the Category-wise Cutoff Percentile for eligibility to appear in the JEE Advanced 2026. Only the top 2,50,000 qualifiers across various categories will be eligible to take the next step toward the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
